”Yes—my name is Igglepiggle Igglepiggle-wiggle-niggle-diggle! Yes—my name is Igglepiggle Igglepiggle-niggle-wiggle-woo!”

Taking our energetic two-year-old to the theatre for the first time seemed like a daunting task, but when we were offered the opportunity to attend "In The Night Garden-LIVE" at Norwich Theatre Royal, we couldn't resist. With our son being a big fan of the show, we knew it would be the perfect choice. In this blog post, we'll share our experience and highlight the child-friendly features, accessibility, and overall enjoyment of our visit to Norwich Theatre Royal for this delightful performance.

Preparation

Considering our Energetic Childand Knowing our son's boundless energy, we needed to choose a show that could keep his attention. "In The Night Garden-LIVE" fit the bill perfectly with its captivating music and familiar characters. We were relieved to find that his urge to jump and dance was easily accommodated in a theatre environment filled with other enthusiastic children.

Location and Timing

Convenience and Planning Norwich Theatre Royal's location near the Chapelfield shopping centre provided us with close parking and easy access. While parking was a bit expensive, the convenience it offered, along with the opportunity to let our son play and grab a bite to eat in the mall before the show, made it worth it. Opting for the 4 pm showing allowed us to align with nap times and plan our day effortlessly.

Child-Friendly Features

Booster Seats and Snacks Upon entering the theatre, we were greeted by a spacious corridor where we could purchase tickets and show-related toys. Snacks were readily available, but we brought our son's favourites to keep him entertained. If needed, the theatre offered booster seats, and the attentive staff even helped families who had forgotten theirs. The friendly and helpful nature of the staff enhanced our experience.

The Theatre Show Experience

As the theme music began to play, the audience fell into silence, and the excitement from the toddlers filled the air. Our son's face was filled with amazement throughout the show. Watching him count the birds, dance to the music, and wave at his favoritefavourite characters brought us immense joy. The show was not only entertaining for the children but also allowed adults to experience the magic through their child's eyes.

Facilities and Accessibility

Norwich Theatre Royal exceeded our expectations in terms of facilities and accessibility. Conveniently located bathrooms, on-site food options, and helpful staff members made our visit comfortable and enjoyable. It was our first time at the theatre, and we were impressed by the attention to detail.

Our first theatre visit to Norwich Theatre Royal for "In The Night Garden-LIVE" was a memorable experience for our family. The show's timing, child-friendly features, and the theatre's accessibility all contributed to a successful outing. Witnessing our son's amazement and joy as he saw his beloved characters come to life on stage was truly magical. We would not hesitate to return to Norwich Theatre Royal for more children's shows and even indulge in a solo viewing of a West End musical. Our theatre experience created cherished memories that will stay with us for a lifetime.
